My name is Ben Cosgrave, and I'm 32 years old. I was born in London, England in 1979. I grew up in three different countries: England, Jordan, and New Zealand. I lived in Wellington, which is the capital of New Zealand, from the age of 10 until I was 18. Then I moved to Dunedin to further my studies. I just finished my Bachelor of Information Technology at Otago Polytechnic. After graduating in 2001, I moved back to Wellington, where I worked until September 2003. I'm now based in London, England, working as a Web Developer.
People always spell my name wrong - not "Ben", although it has been known to happen (my parents were mean enough to actually name me Ben and not Benjamin), but Cosgrave. With an "A". As in Cosgr-A-ve. My entire life, people have been spelling it wrong. It's really REALLY annoying when I say my name with this huge "AVE", just to make sure they get it right, but they never do. ("They" being bank tellers, travel agents, etc). And that's not even my full, hyphenated surname!
My interests vary. I love going out almost as much as staying in. I'ma coffee fanatic. My favourite in the world was The Church Cafe in Dunedin, until it closed. It was about 2 minutes walk from where I lived at the time, and served great coffee and cheesecake. When I'm Wellington, my coffee is served up care of Mojo. Cafe Deluxe and Nikau are both recommended also.
Obviously, I like computers. I am very interested in the Internet. I also like to play games, such as the Quake series. I have designed a few levels for Quake 2. When I get time, I'll post them back up for you to download.
I also enjoy playing many sports, including Golf and Basketball, although I haven't had much time to play lately, so I'm sticking to my gym regime for the moment.
I also like to write. This has always been one of my favourite things to do. Most of my recent writing is found in the writing section of the site. I used to write for a now-defunct Wellington e-zine called Kevin.
My taste in music is about as varied as it gets. To give you an idea of what I like, here are some of the latest CDs that I have bought.
